Sydney will soon host one of the greatest theatrical extravaganzas of all time, a spectacular arena production of George Bizet’s masterpiece, Carmen*, originally directed and designed by Franco Zeffirelli.  Featuring music recognisable worldwide, such as the Toréador Song, and the Habanera, this magnificent production of Carmen, for the first time ever, comes direct and exclusive to the Sydney Football Stadium from the Arena di Verona, Italy.
This enormous production of Carmen will have an astounding 542 member cast, including 18 principals, 40 Spanish dancers, in excess of 160 in the chorus ensemble, a 44 children chorus, 200 extras, plus horses and donkeys and Spanish carriages.

In addition, the full 90 piece Arena di Verona orchestra will travel to Australia from Italy, under the baton of the internationally recognised conductor Giuliano Carella.
